3 foreigners were charged with offences under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, for overstaying in this country after their immigration passes had expired.

A Bangladeshi man, Md Rusna was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of whipping. The sentence took effect from 16th December 2025.

Meanwhile, Abiyar Rista Yufrindah, an Indonesian woman, was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment and a fine of BND800. However, the defendant failed to pay the fine and the sentence was replaced with 1 month imprisonment, bringing the imprisonment to 6 months. The sentence took effect from 24th December 2025.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Muhamad Waluyo, was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of whipping. The sentence also took effect from 24th December 2025.
